Hey Everyone!

I have created this blog as a way for me to keep the family and friends that I am separated from by distance, as close to me as they feel in my heart! It is also a fun little way to keep everyone updated on what I'm doing and experiencing in my college life! Especially since I made the move halfway across the country to Grand Junction, CO.

Here's my story....Enjoy.

Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll!

Hope the Thanksgiving Holiday, along with the Hunting season found you all doing well! There is so much I have to be thankful for this year...I have a wonderful, healthy, loving family; some of the best friends in the world; clothes on my back and shoes on my feet. Really what more could I need. I found a great quotes this weekend that kind of put Thanksgiving back into perspective for me:

‎"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on that you don't have, you will never, ever have enough." -Oprah

I thought Oprah summed it up really well. Being Thankful for what we have right now, I feel is the true secret to happiness. There will always be tough times in life and times of great happiness and prosperity that we wish were all the time--but that's why it's called the "journey" of life. It would not be a journey without the ups and the downs, it's all about being thankful right now and enjoyin' the ride of life.

Speaking of enjoyin' the ride I got to make some awesome memories last Sunday night by going to the Christmas Light Show at the zoo in my hometown with my parents and my sister, and her family! It was a blast. I love watching my nephews' faces light up at all the simple joys of the holidays. Really makes the Christmas season that much more enjoyable. :)

Hope ya'll are enjoying the Holiday Season and the SNOW!!! :)
Until next time....

It's Been Awhile Guys...

So here is a quick update on what has been going on in the last month in my crazy, busy life:

  • I celebrated my birthday in October by going to a MN Wild Hockey game in St. Paul, with three of my best friends! It was a blast. The game ended up going into a double overtime, resulting in a shootout at the end; and the Wild losing. But it was still an amazing birthday night!!

  • I am also excited to ANNOUNCE that I have officially registered for my classes at Mesa State in Colorado! Including a six hour snowboarding class on Tues. and Thursdays. :):)  I can't believe that in less then 2 months I will have a new place to call home.

  • Other then that I've just been very busy with school, work and getting ready for the upcoming holidays! There is snow on the ground here in River Fall, which is wonderful because it means it is that much closer to snowboarding season!!!

Well until next time guys....

In the spirit of Fall, yesterday a group of us decided to take a little roadtrip to Afton Corn Maze in Afton, MN for some good clean fun! The adventure got a little out of hand when us "big tough college students" thought we could master Phase III--the hardest Phase of the cornmaze--. Not only did we get lost and need to be given a few clues on how to get out, but a corn fight also broke out! hah But after about a few hours we successfully concored Phase III! Afterwards, we decided to celebrate our accomplishments by going out to eat at Noodles in Woodburry, MN. Overall, a great day filled with Fall Fun! :)

Gang on the Bridge in the Maze!

There were lots of "Ears" listening!!

Taking a load-off after FINALLY finding our way out

We Conquered the Afton Corn Maze!! :)

Fall Adventures!

So this last week has been full of adventures in RF!

The beginning of the week, my besties and I took a roadtrip to Willow River National Park in Sommerset, WI. With it being fall and the leaves changing the park was extremely gorgeous, not to mention the falls breath-taking. And the best part of it all was we got on killer workout walking all the steep trails that lead to the waterfalls, and the doing the million steps that took us to the top of the waterfall!!! It was crazy how out of shape we all felt. But it was a much needed break from the classes and homework.

Wow! So it's been awhile and I'm sorry, but life has definitly got a little hecktic lately.
But exciting things that have been happening...

~The first weekend in October I went home to Marshfield for the first time in 6 weeks. It was an awesome weekend at home, that went waaaaay too fast. But I had an exciting weekend to say the least. Friday night I had dinner with my family and I could not believe how BIG my nephews have gotten. :(
Then after dinner I was off to chaperone a toilet papering adventure for my old boss' son and his friends. Was super fun, but made me feel old and miss high school...but just a tad. Quite the experience, to say the least!

Then Saturday I got to have a blast at my friend Dustin's wedding! Made me realize how fast we're all growing up and how life seems to be flying by. But I am so happy for him and his new beautiful bride. Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. Dustin Kuhlka!!! Love you guys.

Me and Groom...before the tearful "I do's"

Then Sunday afternoon I got to watch my two eldest nephews play their last soccer game!! It was cute, watching them learning to play the game. After the game it was time to re-pack my things and head home to River Falls!

Until next time....

Mesa State Here I Come!!!

I am super excited to announce that I got my OFFICIAL WELCOME LETTER to Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado today!!!! I'm so pumped to be able to experience someplace new. Yet, now that it is getting closer and that my official acceptance and welcome letter have arrived it is becoming that much more real that I will be going hundreds of miles away from home, to a place where I don't know a soul!! But that is half the adventure that I signed up for. Go Mavericks!!! :)

All Country Weekend!

Hello, Hello!

So, this weekend like most, seemed to just F-L-Y!

Friday night I went to the UWRF Rodeo, and watched college kids from all of the midwest compete. There were some nail-biting moments to say the least but overall I had a blast with my friends. (and got to see some pretty good looking cowboys!)

At the Rodeo

Then Saturday morning me and Miss Hannah Banana were up, bright and early, and on our way to her hometown for rest of the weekend. I spent my time "North of 8" celebrating our friends from school's 21st birthdays with them, by going out to dinner and to a local concert by The Dweebs! Super fun night, though it was a tat-bit-chilly to be at an outdoor concert! But us girls found dancing the night away helped us all to stay warm.

The Gang for the Night

Sunday, Hannah introduced me to Miss Payton...who has to be one of the cutest little girls in Polk County!!! The morning was spent in the barn, feeding calves and playing with the critters. The smell of cow-dung did give me a bit of a homesick feeling for my own family farm though. :(  Yet, after getting back to our country roots...our plan-of-attack WAS to snuggle in and cheer on the Packers, but...I guess living so close to Minneapolis the T.V. provider just assumes that we would much rather watch the Vikings get there bootys rocked, rather then watch our beloved Green and Gold! I beg to differ with that T.V. provider....but good news is the Pack racked up another victory!! GO-PACK-GO! And Hannah and I got to go get some yummy icecream at Burnett Dairy. :) haha Then it was time to pack-up all of our stuff and head back to home, to school.

Payton and I by the "baby moo's"
Well, ya'll that was my exciting weekend...guess it's time to get back to the books!
Till next time---Hugs!

‎"I'm a small town kid, driven by rock music, and some honky-tonk, in the mix. I like whiskey in coke, a double to the top. A shot of cuervo now and then.I never ask for a lot, I'll never need much." --Eli Young Band

Catching Up...

Well guys here it is...my first shot at a blog post!!! Kinda exciting and nerve racking! :)

So guess I should start by filling ya'll in on what the new school year has brought me this far. I'll do a little list to get you all up to speed...

1.) Living in the dorms again this year, and loving it for the most part (minus how easy it is to get sick--that's cesspool living for ya) Here is a little preview of our "spacious abode":

2.) Before the heavy load of classes started, my two bestfriends and I decided to kick off the new school  year in style, and we got matching tattoos!! Branded for life, baby! :)

3.) After all the craziness was done...it was time for the real "fun" to start, classes! :S  And I am proud to report that even though I was a little guttsy this year and overloaded on credits, by taking 19....so far classes are going great.

4.) After I got the first week of classes under my belt...I went back to work and was re-united with my Menards Co-worker buddies!

And that in a nut shell pretty much brings ya'll up to speed. :)
